Today could be an interesting day!

Ok, now I get to what I wanted to talk about. Today could be an interesting day in the life of our school as two big things might happen.

The first is that the Governors might talk to us, or at least they might send us a letter with something of substance in it. Why might that be interesting? Well, because it is such a rare event. In fact it is so unusual that a third of parents in the school signed a petition last November asking to have a meeting with the Governors. We didn't get the meeting but were offered a survey instead. Something was definately a little askew there - we wanted to ask questions, so we got asked questions instead!

Well the survey finally came out and apparently a staggering 84% of parents responded. Since then it has all gone very quiet. Strangely quiet. You would have thought that with these levels of interest they would have done a little better. Rumours are that perhaps today we will get a response. What sort of response will be very interesting. Perhaps they will wait until tomorrow, the last day of term. Oh dear, I am sounding a little cynical!

The other big event relates to staff in the school. Way, way back last year, when we could still remember our summer holidays, the school administrator filed a greivance procedure saying that she was being bullied. For some peculiar reason it has taken our Governors almost 6 months to progress what should be a straight forward staff process. Why has it taken so long? I will save my speculations for another day. Back to the point though - just maybe, the hearing will be completed today, and just maybe there will be a conclusion. As soon as I know anything I will let you know.

Adding comments...

Gosh - its all new and different in this Internet world! I now realise that if you want to add comments to this blog you will need a google / gmail account. Sorry. I guess the theory is that poeple cannot leave anonymous comments. Good generally but perhaps not quite what we wanted here. Well, lets so how we go.

Starting a blog...

I am starting this blog to express my concern about our school, St Vincent's Catholic Primary, in Acton London W3. The idea is that this will be a place where people can share and comment about the school both openly and yet confidentially. There may come a time, hopefully soon, when the fear is gone and there will be no more need for such an approach.

Our school has been a wonderful school and it is sad what it has become since the current head took over. The tacit approval of the governing body has been very upsetting. Anyway - this is my bold first step to try and change things. This gets the blog started - I will try and post reasonably often and I hope to get some feedback from others of you out there. lets see what happens....
